Professor Emeritus, North Central College (Naperville, Illinois)
Richard Eastman was a faculty member at North Central College for his entire career (1946-1982), including service as chair of English, chair of Humanities, dean of faculty and vice-president for academic affairs, and chair of General Studies. In 1980 he won the Dissinger Award for Excellence in Teaching. In 1993 his College made him an Honorary Doctor of Humanitites. He co-founded the Naperville Writers Group. Since his retirement, he has composed and published many musical compositions for the recorder (House of Porter; Loux; American Recorder Society) and has won awards for his work from the Chicago chapter of the American Recorder Society.
